Words cannot describe the deliciousness of a Banh Mi Sandwich. The ingredients may be a little odd to some, but holy heck is it unbelievably amazing! But just you wait until you try these Banh Mi Turkey Burgers. You’ll be speechless!
I picked up some turkey patties from JENNIE-O and the first thing that came to mind was using these patties to make some bomb diggity Banh Mi Turkey Burgers. What I absolutely love about JENNIE-O’s turkey is that it is so juicy and packed full of protein. 21 grams! Yes, that’s right 21 grams and is the perfect healthy option with no added anything for that cute lil mouth of yours!! Not gonna lie, I usually pass on turkey things because it can get so dry so fast, but these patties. Absolute swoonage.
Traditionally, Banh Mi uses a baguette of some sort, usually pretty crunchy, but soft inside and a fusion of meats and vegetables native to Vietnamese cuisine. The Vietnamese culture is huge in California, especially the bay area and we have some of the BEST Vietnamese food around. The Banh Mi Sando’s I’ve had here are usually made with pate or pork, but I want you to be able to make something just as delicious in your own home. As if you are eating at a restaurant with me! And that’s truly how this Banh Mi Turkey Burger was created!
There are a couple ways you can go about making these Banh Mi Turkey Burgers. If you are avoiding bread, wrap those JENNIE-O burgers around some lettuce. Iceburg lettuce works best as its easiest to stuff all that goodness into it. I usually double up the turkey patty when I wrap in lettuce. You can also do a french baguette or some sort or one of my favorites is using a toasted brioche bun. It adds a little sweetness which helps with the kick you get from the sriaracha mayo, pickled veggies, and jalapenos.
I love changing up my burger options and having something different to give to my family and friends and this Banh Mi Turkey Burger does just that. I hope that you absolutely devour these this summer!
